Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about trading with Veltafi.

What is Veltafi?

Veltafi is a futures evaluation firm operated from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We provide traders with simulated $100,000 futures accounts to prove their skill. Traders who pass our evaluation earn a funded account with real profit payouts in USDC.

How much does an evaluation cost?

Our $100K evaluation costs $99 USD — a one-time fee paid in USDC. There are no monthly subscriptions or hidden charges.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept USDC (Polygon network), PayPal, and Interac e-Transfer (for Canadian residents). Payment details are provided after you confirm your order at checkout.

What are the evaluation rules?

Profit target of 6% ($6,000), end-of-day trailing drawdown of 3% ($3,000), daily loss limit of $1,500, and a minimum of 5 trading days. There is no time limit. Full details are published on our Rules & Prohibited Activities page.

What instruments can I trade?

ES (S&P 500), NQ (Nasdaq 100), MES (Micro S&P), and MNQ (Micro Nasdaq) futures contracts with real-time CME data via Databento.

What is the maximum position size?

5 contracts for ES/NQ (standard) and 20 contracts for MES/MNQ (micro).

How does the trailing drawdown work?

The drawdown threshold trails your end-of-day high water mark by $3,000. It only moves up, never down. Once the threshold reaches $100,000, it locks in place. Calculated at market close (5:00 PM EST), not intraday.

What is the daily loss limit?

You cannot lose more than $1,500 in a single trading session. If your equity drops $1,500 below your session starting equity, your account is immediately failed. The session resets at 5:00 PM EST daily.

Is there a time limit?

No. Take as long as you need to pass the evaluation. There is no expiration date.

What happens when I pass?

You sign a contractor agreement and receive a funded account. You trade under the same rules with an 80/20 profit split in your favor. First payout is available after 10 trading days on the funded account.

How do payouts work?

Payouts are processed in USDC to your ERC-20 wallet address. Minimum payout is $250. Processed within 1-3 business days. KYC identity verification is required before your first payout.

Can I reset a failed account?

Yes. If your evaluation account fails, you can reset it for $49 instead of purchasing a new $99 evaluation.

Is the trading data real?

Yes. We use live CME futures data from Databento. The price action is the real market — only the capital is simulated.

Are refunds available?

No. All evaluation and reset fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome. We recommend reviewing our Rules & Prohibited Activities page before purchasing.

What is the consistency rule?

On funded accounts only, no single trade or trading day may account for more than 60% of your total net simulated profit at the time of a payout request. This ensures consistent skill rather than reliance on a single lucky trade. There is no consistency rule during the evaluation phase — pass however you can.

Can I trade during news events?

Legitimate positions held through news events are permitted. However, repeatedly entering large positions immediately before high-impact releases (NFP, CPI, FOMC) as a primary strategy is considered news trading exploitation and is prohibited. See our Rules page for full details.

What activities are prohibited?

Exploiting platform bugs, HFT bots, account sharing, multi-account hedging, identity fraud, market manipulation, news trading exploitation, coordinated copy trading across multiple accounts, weekend gap gambling as a primary strategy, and trading from sanctioned jurisdictions. Full list available at veltafi.com/rules.

Is Veltafi a broker?

No. Veltafi is a simulated trading evaluation platform. We are not a broker-dealer, investment advisor, or financial institution. No real capital is at risk during the evaluation. We are operated from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
